Congratulations to Nairobi, who won the Cargo Terminal of the Year. The team handled 93,552 metric tonnes in 2022 as well achieving a 100% safety record with no significant accidents or incidents at their warehouses or on the ramp.

In 2022, the team achieved a 96% overall service level agreement (SLA) score for Qatar Airways and made big improvements on their on-time-performance (OTP) for Qatar and Cargolux compared to the previous year. They also achieved and exceeded their service level agreement requirements for their clients during their peak period of the year. The team introduced an employee of the month recognition award which has greatly contributed to a morale and motivation.

Nouamane Zahouani, General Manager for Uganda & Kenya shared more about what winning the award means to the team, “It is exciting. The win is a significant milestone and recognises the effort that the team has put in, especially considering the impact the Covid-19 pandemic had on the business. It has also put Kenya on the global map as far as Menzies Aviation is concerned. It has given us a reason to work even harder to retain the same performance for this year, going forward.

“We have ambitious goals for 2023 including completing our warehouse expansion project, achieving a CEIV certification for Pharma & Perishable and securing a passenger handling license. We want to achieve an excellent OTP safely and securely whilst exceeding our customers' expectations and growing our business with new customer wins.”
