We Are Menzies Awards
6 May 2022
In January, we invited everyone to nominate their colleagues for a We Are Menzies Award and were delighted to receive more than 1,200 nominations globally. From administering first aid in an emergency and stopping work in dangerous situations, to supporting colleagues and customers, the wide range of nominations celebrated the commitment of our colleagues who live our values every day.
The Executive Management Board had the difficult job of deciding the global winners from the regional finalists. I’m delighted to announce our employee of the year, the global values awards winners and the winners of the 2021 performance awards.
Thank you to everyone who nominated a colleague and many congratulations to all our shortlisted finalists and global winners!
Employee of the Year
German Martinez Sierra, (pictured above) based in Aguascalientes, Mexico and winner of the global Safety & Security award was chosen as our employee of the year. German’s commitment to safety was demonstrated when he noticed damage one of the engines on a flight about to depart. The damage had not been identified in the completed walk around inspection but German didn’t hesitate to immediately report the damage to his supervisor, setting the example for all colleagues. Congratulations German!
