Journey to 2033 - sustainable growth at Menzies

You may remember that we invited you to take part in a survey last year…well, the results have been analysed and we’ve built our Environment Social and Governance (ESG) framework based on the 12 priorities that matter most to you. They are:

  • Ethical business
  • Health & safety
  • Our environmental impact
  • Diversity & inclusion
  • Risk management
  • Legally compliant
  • Employee engagement
  • Human rights
  • Community support
  • Effect of climate change on Menzies
  • Water usage
  • Waste management

In addition to input from employees, the team behind our ESG framework has also looked at best practice, spoken to customers and suppliers and carried out extensive research and data analysis. As a result, we understand where we are starting from and how much we need to do to achieve our sustainability ambitions by 2033, when Menzies will celebrate its 200 year anniversary.

Our thorough approach has helped us group the priorities, and the work we’ll do to improve our performance against each of them, into four areas. This will make it easier to manage the work programme and to report on our progress under each:

  • Environment
  • Safety
  • People
  • Legal & ethical

We have set clear goals under each of the four areas and have started working on the actions we need to take to achieve those goals.
