Turning green at GOT
13 April 2021
The Menzies team at Gothenburg-Landvetter are supporting the airport’s target of stopping using fossil fuels by 2026 and customer KLM’s goals of halving their carbon footprint by 2030.
The team carried out a fully electric turn for KLM recently, using electric baggage and push back trucks to complete the operation.
Menzies employees are already seeing the benefits of the change to electric vehicles and GSE - the lower levels of exhaust emissions have resulted in better air quality at the airport and improved the working environment.
Fossil-fuel powered equipment is being phased out at Gothenburg-Landvetter airport ahead of the 2026 zero-emissions target.
