Creating strong passwords

11 October 2024

Strong passwords are essential for your digital security. Using a strong password is a simple yet effective way to protect yourself from a range of cyber threats today’s digital world.

Follow these guidelines to create strong passwords.

Length and complexity: make your passwords at least 12 characters long. Use a mix of uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and special characters.

Avoid personal information: do not use easily guessable information like birthdays, names, or common words.

Keep it random: create passwords that are random and do not follow predictable patterns. For example, avoid sequences like “12345” or "qwerty".

Unique: use a different password for each of your accounts to prevent a single breach from compromising multiple accounts.

Passphrases: Consider using a passphrase, which is a sequence of random words. This can be easier to remember and still very secure.
