👋 Say hello to Peggy-Ann Vlug, General Manager for Human Resources, based at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol (AMS) in the Netherlands.

As a key member of the management team, Peggy-Ann oversees all personnel operations at AMS. As part of her varied role, her key focus is on developing and implementing HR policies, while collaborating closely with local trade unions. “From dealing with enquiries from board members to addressing various workforce matters, I manage a broad workload each week,” she explains.

It’s this variety which Peggy-Ann says makes her work so enjoyable. “Every day is different, and even with over 40 years of HR experience, I continue to learn something new each day,” she says.

Developing and implementing the Sectoral Collective Agreement for Aviation at AMS is what Peggy-Ann highlights as her proudest achievement. Developed in collaboration with six other ground handlers at the airport, this agreement establishes minimum standards for working conditions and wages. 👏

The COVID-19 pandemic stands out as a particularly memorable time for Penny-Ann. “With a dramatically reduced number of passengers, our Front of House agents started working in our warehouse to help manage an unprecedented volume of cargo. The team spirit and sense of camaraderie was completely uplifting,” she says. 💙
