Microsoft Teams Support Centre
Microsoft Teams is a centralised hub for communication and collaboration within a team, department or station, allowing you to share content and access other apps. This support site will give you the tools and knowledge to understand and master Teams.
React to a message in Teams. To do this, simply hover over the message and click on an icon.
@ mention or tag people in conversations to get your message noticed quickly. To do this, type the ‘@’ symbol followed by the person’s name.
Rearrange your Teams into an order that you prefer. You can move them by dragging and dropping them in the Teams list.
Set your status to Busy to avoid being interrupted at work. Similarly, if you absolutely cannot be disturbed, set your status to Do Not Disturb. Do this from your profile picture/icon at the top of the screen.
Pin chats that you use regularly to avoid them from getting lost. Pinned chats will move to the top of your list. Do this by clicking the “…” next to a chat and click “Pin”.
If you are uncontactable (in training, working remotely or travelling) set a status message to let people know when you will next be available. Do this by clicking on your profile picture/icon.
Use emoticons and underlining carefully or avoid them altogether, it’s easy to misinterpret messages in text.
