Air Cargo Africa 2025
25 February 2025
Last week I was in Nairobi, Kenya spending time with the Menzies Aviation team at Air Cargo Africa 2025 and visiting our operations at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. It is an important opportunity to engage with colleagues, customers, and partners as we come together to discuss the future of the air cargo industry.
Air cargo demand in Africa is set to grow by 8.5% year-on-year and with capacity increasing by 13.6%, the continent has huge growth potential. At Menzies, we are committed to supporting this growth. We now operate at more than 35 airports in 18 countries in Africa and have made significant strides over the past 12 months to expand our presence in the region. From opening a new cargo facility in Mozambique to expanding our facilities in Nairobi, we’re reinforcing our commitment to high-quality cargo handling and ready to support our airline customers and airport partners.
It’s been great to spend time at the event and to see our team recognised as the International Ground Handler of the Year at the STAT Times International Awards for Excellence in Air Cargo. It's an incredible honour to be acknowledged and for our teams to be recognised for their commitment to excellence, safety, and efficiency in ground handling operations.
A big thank you to our colleagues and partners in Kenya who have made this trip so memorable. Special thanks to Nouamane Zahouani, Teresiah Karanja, Kadima Haji, James Osunga, Stallone Kituu, Molline Otieno, Wilfred Kimari, Jackline Makokha, Steve Ndambu, Issac Mwangi, and Catherine Mutua for their contributions.
