Wellbeing Week 2024 winners
17 July 2024
Last month, we asked everyone to get moving for Wellbeing Week 2024. Our colleagues embraced the challenge by finding exciting ways to focus on both their own wellbeing and that of those around them.
During Wellbeing Week 2024, we gave everyone the opportunity to take part in our ‘Move with Menzies’ competition. By sharing photos of how they chose to take part, participants had the chance to win a Health Hamper prize. The level of dedication, creativity and teamwork displayed by all participants was inspiring, making the selection process incredibly challenging. Now we are putting the spotlight on this year's winners and the activities that made them stand out.
The winners are:
Fábio Macedo, Lisbon
Upon hearing about Wellbeing Week 2024, our colleague Fábio grabbed his mountain bike and headed for the challenging terrain of the Cascata da Contradinha trail. Covering an impressive 38.4km on his bike, Fábio was able to get active whilst exploring the beautiful landscape that surrounds Portugal's capital city, Lisbon.
Lisette Morales, Cancun
Lisette (left) goes above and beyond when it comes to physical activity. A swimmer since the age of ten, Lisette enjoys the challenge of open water swimming competitions. As well as swimming, she has started cycling and running. During Wellbeing Week 2024, Lisette encouraged her colleagues Diego, Eduardo and Javier to join in by inviting them to participate in bike rides - even creating a running competition for their team.
Talking about her activities, Lisette said “I swim Monday to Friday and cycle three times a week. I have a swimming competition in August, the OceanMan in Cozumel, and I am very excited”.
Hafizah Ahmad, Kuala Lumpur
Our colleague Hafizah, based in Malaysia, used Wellbeing Week 2024 as an opportunity for team bonding. Hafizah’s team took a creative approach to the week, dedicating a day to embracing diversity and celebrating culture by wearing Batik clothing.
The following day they embarked on a guided hike to focus on wellbeing whilst exploring nature and tackling the diverse, often challenging, mountains and forests of Malaysia.
Commenting on the activities, Hafizah said "This event is not just about relaxation and fun, it's about fostering a supportive community within our company and promoting a healthy work-life balance”.
Saasi Annet, Entebbe
Saasi and the team in Uganda were joined by a psychologist from the Chiromo Hospital Group, for an online session focused on looking after their wellbeing.
The team also took part in the ‘Move with Menzies’ challenge, heading outdoors to participate in a group activity designed to get everyone moving.
Saasi and the team in Uganda have shown how a combination of physical and mental activities can help improve our overall wellbeing.
Congratulations to all our winners for their outstanding contributions - we appreciate your hard work, passion, and commitment to ensuring colleague wellbeing remains a focus. All winners will receive a Wellbeing Hamper for their respective stations/branches.
Thank you to everyone who participated in Wellbeing Week, your efforts are truly commendable.
