Wellbeing Week 2023 winners

2 August 2023

We are delighted to announce the winners of our recent Wellbeing Week Competition! The level of dedication, creativity, and teamwork displayed by all participants was inspiring, making the selection process challenging.

The winners are:

Jo Sinclair, London Heathrow
One of our colleagues who is passionate about self-care and mental health awareness, Jo spent some time being available in the rest room for open conversations with colleagues. We also took this opportunity to ensure the Menzies Employee Assistance Programme was being well publicised. The team also ensured that healthy snacks were available throughout the week.

Haider Ihsan Mohsen, Iraq
The team held a circle in our fuel team department at Baghdad International Airport, where team members made a presentation to colleagues, followed by a discussion on the effects of talking. They shared stories and discussed suggestions on how to spread the wellbeing message.  They also held a competition & jokes to lighten the mood.

Lina Abdullah, Malaysia
Lina describes Wellbeing Week, "At our town hall event, our top leaders delivered a wellbeing speech. We also shared our team commitments for 2023. One of our exciting initiatives is conducting weekly wellbeing tasks by spinning the Malaysia Menzies wheel. During the town hall, we also engaged in a fun activity called the mystery box, where each one of us had to choose a number and carry out the assigned task. Afterward, we concluded the day by enjoying a shared lunch, boosting our energy and fostering team spirit."

Susan Whelan, Baltimore
A yoga session was held for all colleagues, which was well attended and was followed with healthy snacks and ice-cold water.

Alan Fraser & Will Barlow, Manchester AMI
The branch arranged for a masseuse to come in, and healthy snacks were provided throughout the week.

Congratulations to all the winners for their outstanding contributions - we appreciate your hard work, passion, and commitment to ensuring employee wellbeing remains a focus.

We would also like to extend our thanks to every participant who took part in the competition. Your contributions helped foster a healthy spirit of wellbeing, encouraging and enhancing our overall workplace dynamics. The winners will receive a Wellbeing Hamper for their respective stations/branches.

Thank you to everyone who participated in Wellbeing Week, your efforts are truly commendable, and you have all put a spotlight on the importance of talking to others and the benefits that this can have on our overall wellbeing,
