👋Say Hello to Debi McRae, Passenger Services Manager, at Glasgow Airport (GLA).

From Check In Agent and Front of House (FOH) duty manager to her current role as Passenger Services Manager, Debi has fulfilled a number of roles during her career at Menzies Aviation. Embracing every opportunity, Debi says “I love to learn and always tell my employees if you are willing to learn all you can, then you can go far.”

She credits teamwork as being what she enjoys most about the job: “People make Glasgow is a Glasgow saying and this relates to our team in GLA as without the people and the hard work and passion they have for their jobs, then the station would not be the success it has been.”

Among her most memorable experiences, Debi reflects on the 2010 eruptions of Eyjafjallajökull in Iceland, which caused enormous disruption to air travel across Western Europe. A week after the volcanic eruption, it was all systems go as flights resumed and Glasgow became a hub for Icelandair’s arrivals and departures.

“It was extremely challenging with long working days,” explained Debi, “but looking back it was a great experience to be part of and we learnt a lot about the airline and what we can achieve when we work together.” 🤝
