New ground handling license secured in Canada

6 March 2023

We will start up ground services later this year at Montreal-Trudeau International Airport (YUL) after being awarded a ground handling license by Aéroports de Montréal.

In a competitive bidding process, we were selected based on our best-in-class safety, operational performance, environmental, financial and investment track record.

The license will enable Menzies to provide a full suite of ground services at YUL, including ramp, passenger and cabin cleaning services, until the end of 2030. This is an expansion at YUL, where we have an existing cargo operation.

Work has started on getting our operation ready for this summer, including sourcing GSE and establishing a team.

The General Manager role is currently being advertised and internal candidates are welcome to apply. If you have worked for Menzies in a managerial position for at least one continuous year and are successful in your application process, we will support your visa application and your relocation

John Redmond, Executive Vice President Americas, said: “Adding ground handling at Montreal to our network is a fantastic milestone for our team, who have worked diligently to secure the license. The team is now focused on expanding our operations at YUL beyond cargo and they are already working on sourcing ground service equipment and recruiting a new team, who will receive industry-leading training and competitive salaries and benefits.

“We have an excellent track record of setting up operations at pace, we know the region well, and we are confident this will be a great success. We are proud to provide our services at three of the largest Canadian airports and are well positioned to grow our business further alongside existing and new customers.”
