Get moving...with Tony Karpenko

How did you get into racquetball?
It’s just another way for me to compete. I have participated in team sports my whole life, baseball, basketball, and football, and continue to play softball at the ripe age of 50. Racquetball is just a way to test myself individually. It’s the same reason I love golf.

What do you enjoy most about it?
I enjoy the speed and finesse of the game. It’s all about moving through a small space against opponent(s) to find a way to out-smart them with either power or skilfully placed shots. When done right, a very fast game slows down a lot.

How does racquetball benefit your wellbeing?
Racquetball definitely helps increase physical endurance, as well as hand-eye coordination. It’s a way to have fun and get in shape.

Why do you recommend racquetball?
It’s a great way to fellowship with current friends and a way to network to meet new ones. It’s also a sport that can be played all year round and for a lifetime. Skill levels don’t often matter when you step on the court.
