How did you get into running?
I started after my son was born as a way to get outside with him. I run (well, “run” is a strong word!) by myself and with my kids (6 and 8).  I’ve done several half marathons, and I’ve signed up for two half-marathons this year and a few shorter races, and am considering a few more halfs.

What do you enjoy most about it?

To be clear: I’m not built for speed, but I enjoy it – alone, I get time with my thoughts, and with the kids I have people who will chatter at me non-stop so I get to hear about their days and what they’re thinking, so it’s a time to connect with them.

How does running benefit your wellbeing?
My six-year-old ran two miles all in a row no stopping with me the other day, since she wants to come with me on longer runs!  I’m not setting any land speed records, but the time outside feels good.
