Last week the Menzies team in Jakarta handled a doubly unusual flight!

The team welcomed VVIP Sergey Lavrov, the Russian Foreign Minister and the third ‘very very important person’ they have worked with recently, who flew to Indonesia on board a rare Ilyushin IL96, one of only 15 aircraft of this type in the world.

Country Vice President Indonesia Alex Willis says; “The team did a great job and it was great to add another aircraft to our experience. There were quite a few differences for the team to adapt to, including the lack of a headset jack meaning that communication with the flight deck was by hand signals only. They showed flexibility while maintaining Menzies’ high standards of safety and compliance.”
