Cargo boost for Budapest
25 August 2020
As Menzies cargo and freight chartering business continues to grow strongly, the team welcomed new customer Cargolux to the Budapest operation. The first turnaround was successfully completed on Sunday 16 August.
VP Operations Adrian Yazdi said: “Cargolux awarded the contract to Menzies on our word that we would get the equipment and our staff trained in time to deliver the service. We capitalised on the experience of our global network in order to meet their needs. I’m very proud of the team here in Budapest and grateful for the support of our colleagues in Amsterdam, and I know Cargolux are extremely pleased too.”
Cargolux congratulated Menzies on the quality of the handling, both airside and in terms of the documentation, administration and warehousing.
As with other recent cargo wins, Menzies Aviation has invested strongly in order to meet Cargolux’s requirements, purchasing freighter handling ground support equipment and upgrading warehousing. And the investment has also included training and development for employees, six of whom travelled to Menzies’ Amsterdam station to work alongside the experienced freighter team and learn how to handle the 747 aircraft.
