👏 Congratulations to our team at Milan Malpensa (MXP), Italy winners of the Ground Handling Station of the Year – Small/Medium award.

As one of our newer stations, Milan has quickly proven its capability, resilience, and drive for excellence. The station has made remarkable progress in a short time, navigating challenges and building a high-performing team from the ground up in one of Italy’s busiest and most dynamic airport environments. 💪

That required consistent engagement, clear communication, and a collective belief in the direction they were heading. Today, the team of 380 colleagues work together to handle around 585 departures per week from a dedicated airport terminal.

This award is a well-deserved recognition of their hard work, unity and commitment to excellence. 🌟

Reflecting on the award win, Davide Damico, MXP Station Manager said:

“It was a much-appreciated recognition, and I am incredibly happy for my team. Milan can always count on a super team of people who are highly engaged and very professional.”

“Each member of the team, regardless of department, works together with their colleagues in a very coordinated way.  We conduct some familiarisation sessions between departments every couple of months to help colleagues understand what goes on behind the scenes.”

Also key to their success was the involvement of frontline teams. Frequent briefings, open dialogue, and regular recognition helped build a strong sense of ownership and momentum.

“What impressed me most was how members of the team adapted and grew into their new roles. As a new station, appointing the right people wasn’t easy. But day by day, they each embraced the challenge with seriousness and professionalism. Their true strength comes from the mix of huge experience and an enthusiasm for what we do, and their personal growth is my greatest satisfaction.”

Looking forward, MXP aims to continue performing at the highest level.  They are also looking to grow new local customers and expand within the Italian market. 📈
