Valentine’s Day may not be typically associated with the aviation industry, but the weeks leading up to the 14th of February are some of the busiest of the year for our cargo teams.
As the number one holiday for customer purchases of flowers, millions of bouquets are bought and sold globally, transported from all corners of the globe with Netherlands, Colombia, Ecuador, Kenya and Ethiopia leading the export market.
Ensuring flowers reach their destination in perfect condition, careful handling is required. In particular, fresh-cut flowers, such as roses, have a short shelf life and require specific transportation conditions, including strict temperature management and specialised packaging. 📦
