Seven ground handling licenses secured in landmark Spanish tender
Our European colleagues have been awarded seven ground handling licenses by the Spanish Airport Authority (AENA) in the largest ground handling tender in the world, including Barcelona (BCN), Palma Mallorca (PMI), Malaga (AGP), Alicante (ALC), Gran Canaria (LPA), Tenerife Sur (TFS) and Tenerife Norte (TFN) airports.
The seven-year licenses will see Menzies provide full ramp and passenger services at these airports from early 2024 to 2031. Read the full story here.
Etihad Airways returns to Menzies in Pakistan
The Menzies-RAS team in Pakistan has successfully resumed operations with Etihad Airways, following a new contract which will see local teams delivering passenger, ramp and cargo services at Jinnah International Airport (KHI) in Karachi, Allama Iqbal International Airport (LHE) in Lahore and Islamabad International Airport (ISB).
This latest win will see Menzies oversee more than 35 turns per week, resuming operations with the airline in Pakistan after it spent three years with a different handler.
Expanding business with Nouvelair
Tunisian airline, Nouvelair has signed a three-year agreement for our team at Copenhagen Airport (CPH) to deliver passenger, ramp and de-icing services.
The airline flies both scheduled and charter passenger flights to over 25 destinations across Europe, Eurasia and North Africa and charter flights to several destinations.
This latest win marks an expansion of our services for the airline in Europe, which currently includes London Gatwick (LGW) and Prague Airport (PRG). It will begin with one turn per week.
Key Milestone passed in Portugal transaction
We are getting ready for take off in Portugal following Groundforce Portugal’s major creditors, particularly ANA Aeroportos de Portugal, TAP, and Groundforce Portugal employees voting in favour of our plan.
As long-term investors, we will ensure world-class standards of operations, with a focus on safety, security, on-time-performance, customer service and technology.
Our project team is working hard in preparation of the completion of this transaction, and we are excited to be one step closer to entering this market at scale, securing 65% of a major aviation market in Europe.
Korean Air renews contract at SYD
Our team at Sydney International Airport (SYD) has successfully renewed daily services for Korean Air following a competitive RFP process.
The three-year contract will see local teams deliver passenger and ramp services for the airline at Sydney (SYD), along with existing operations at two further airports in Oceania, including Brisbane (BNE) and Auckland Airport (AKL). The successful renewal supports Menzies’ position as the Carrier’s preferred supplier.
