Fuels attends JIG Technical Forum
Paul Murray, VP Operations Fuels, Jenny Brompton, Vice President HSSE & Operational Excellence Fuels, and Marco di Mario, SVP Fuels, attended the JIG Members’ Technical Forum (MTF) in Budapest earlier this month. JIG is the organisation for the development of aviation fuel supply and fuelling services standards. Menzies is an active member of JIG, with representation on the Operations Committee. During the MTF, Jenny, who celebrated her five-year Menzies anniversary at the event, delivered a presentation on HSSE-MS compliance for fuel storage facilities, which was greatly appreciated by the audience and created the opportunity for future discussion on fire safety improvement at aviation storage facilities.

Australia wins Amazon cargo contract
We have won a cargo security screening contract with Amazon at Sydney (SYD) and Melbourne (MEL) airports. Our cargo teams will accept and security screen shipments from Amazon’s distribution hubs in Melbourne and Sydney before they are distributed within Australia.

Montenegro wins two customers
Our team at Tivat International Airport (TIV) in Montenegro successfully handled the inaugural flights of Jazeera Airways from Kuwait and Uzbekistan Airways from Tashkent. We are providing flight support and station management services to both carriers.

Amsterdam presses PLAY
Congratulations to our Amsterdam Airport Schiphol (AMS) team, who successfully started up ground services for Icelandic low-cost airline PLAY. Our AMS team secured a new contract to provide passenger, ramp and cargo handling for five flights per week. The first flight was handled safely and on time earlier this month and resulted in positive feedback from both the crew and the local PLAY team.

Over 40 Menzies colleagues attended a Menzies Sales Talk with Nikki Edwards, Procurement Lead at easyJet, who spoke about:

  • ground handling companies positioning themselves to become strategic partners with airlines
  • suppliers standing out in sales processes (RFP)
  • examples of excellent and poor pitches they have received
