Time To Talk 2023

2 February 2023

This year we will be promoting Time to Talk 2023; thinking about how we talk to each other, why we should talk, and what we can do to encourage good communication.

We recognise the positive power of talking and the benefits of good communication including:

  • greater social connections
  • improved mental wellbeing
  • more effective teamwork: and
  • increased workplace safety.

Talking brings us together, not only to share and celebrate success, but also during times of difficulty. It also makes life more fun and interesting!

Today, we are taking our lead from Time to Talk Day in the United Kingdom – an event that encourages us to talk about mental health. Whether we are talking, listening, or both, these conversations have the power to change lives. By opening up and sharing our own experiences, we can reduce stigma and encourage others to talk or seek support. Check out the link below for tips on how to start a conversation about mental health.

Having conversations about topics other than mental health, can also boost wellbeing. Not only can talking help us feel happier in the moment, it can assist with building connections and confidence. So why not think about how you can start a conversation today; it could be as simple as engaging in small talk or sharing a laugh with a new colleague.

The more conversations we have, the better life is for everyone – so let’s get talking. Look out for more of our Time to Talk 2023 wellbeing events this year to find out how you and your team can get involved.
