Celebrating 15 years’ service

7 February 2023

Marco Maré, Risk Manager recently celebrated his 15th anniversary with Menzies and shared his Menzies journey with us:

“I started with Menzies Aviation on 21 January 2008 in Johannesburg, South Africa when Menzies started up. I started as a turnaround coordinator, then moved to a ramp duty manager and in Oct 2014 I was appointed as the regional training manager for South Africa & Namibia.

“In 2016 I was offered a position with Menzies in Toronto as the Station Safety & Training Manager. When Menzies acquired ASIG in 2017, I was appointed as the Regional Training Manager for Canada and the following year, my position changed to Quality Assurance & Compliance Manager Canada. In April 2022 I was offered the position as Risk Manager for Orlando and joined the Orlando team six years to the day from when I first started in Canada.

“On my 15th anniversary of joining Menzies Aviation in South Africa in 2008, I was reminded why I made the decision to move from an airline to a ground handling company. Eric Hamilton, with some input from Andrey Serdyukov & Alexandra Maré handed me a safety vest with my job title and the number 0015 on it to celebrate the occasion. It’s the little things that matter and that has stuck with me in my 23.5 years in aviation. I am where I am because of the people I have worked with over the years.”

Congratulations on your anniversary!
