Project MACH goes live in Bucharest
12 December 2023
Earlier this year, we announced our partnership with Wipro to transform our air cargo services by the end of 2024 through a phased implementation of a first-of-its-kind cargo handling product, MACH, across our network.
MACH brings a host of benefits, including:
📱 Better usability, thanks to a modern user interface (UI) with easy-to-use navigation
🌎 A cloud-based architecture, ensuring accessibility from anywhere
🔄 Enhanced integration with other systems, helping to simplify and standardise all processes
📊 Improved data accuracy
We're delighted to share that at the end of November, we successfully implemented the new system into our first facility in Otopeni in Bucharest, Romania.
Rory Fidler, VP Cargo Technology said, "I am incredibly proud to confirm that we have implemented the new Menzies Aviation Cargo Application (Project MACH) product into our first facility in Otopeni in Bucharest. This hugely stretching delivery timetable was successfully achieved as a result of the Partnership with Wipro the openness to change from the Otopeni team and the incredible perseverance knowledge and capacity for hard work from my team. Thank you to each and every one of you, you need to be proud of yourselves.
"We have a very significant amount of work still to do with a further 40 sites to roll out before the end of 2024 but this is a great start and it is fantastic to have a state of the art end to end cargo handling system live handling cargo in our first shed."
Christian Paris, VP Balkans said, "Many thanks for everybody involved for their hard work and involvement. We are proud that Bucharest, Romania was the first station for implementation. It's another step towards the full digitalisation of Menzies Aviation, proving again why we are Number 1 handler in the world."
