First passenger airline win in Jamaica
Six months after our acquisition of a majority stake in AJAS Limited in Jamaica, the team has won its first ground services contract with Delta Airlines. The three-year contract will include passenger, ramp and cabin cleaning services spanning 52 turns per week at Sangster International Airport (MBJ) in Montego Bay, and seven flights per week at Norman Manley International Airport (KIN) in Kingston.
The win represents a significant step in the company’s strategy to become the largest and most trusted provider in Jamaica.
New cargo contract for Starlux in SFO
Taiwanese operator Starlux Airlines has agreed a three-year contract, with an optional two-year extension for cargo handling services at San Franscisco International Airport (SFO).
The new route for Starlux, which follows its launch at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) in March 2023, will see the airline operate five A350 flights per week, handling an estimated 4,000 tons annually.
SFO marks a new location for Starlux and our first with the airline in the Americas region.
LATAM renews contract in Colombia
Chilean multinational airlines, LATAM Airlines has renewed our services at El Dorado International Airport (BOG), José María Córdova International Airport (MDE), Alfonso Bonilla Aragón International Airport (CLO) and Ernesto Cortissoz International Airport (BAQ).
The renewal, and largest Menzies contract in Colombia, will see local teams manage all ramp services in all of the airline’s Colombian airports, representing more than 52,000 turns per year.
The renewal reinforces the strategic importance of the contract with LATAM, creating a stepping stone for other opportunities in Colombia and further afield in South America.
New contract with USTOSHOP expands cargo presence in the Americas
Our cargo team in the Americas has secured a rolling contract with USTOSHOP, the logistic vendor of TEMU – a fast growing e-commerce shopping platform.
Trials are underway at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), where more than 25,000 tonnes are expected to be handled each year. In addition, the team will oversee import cargo handling for USTOSHOP in Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) with up to 12,000 tonnes expected per year.
