Lounge extension at Johannesburg
We have extended our contract to provide the front of house team at the Standard Bank Lounge at O.R. Tambo International (JNB) in Johannesburg. The renewal until November 2024 is testament to the excellent service the team provides to passengers.

Icelandair touching down in Prague
We are expanding our Icelandair portfolio with new business at Vaclav Havel Airport Prague (PRG). Our team will provide passenger, ramp and lounge services from June when the carrier launches a new route between Iceland and the Czech Republic. The carrier will operate a Boeing 737 MAX four times a week during the summer season. This is our first contract with Icelandair outside of the UK, where we support them at Manchester, London Heathrow and London Gatwick.

New customer for Copenhagen
Our Copenhagen Airport (CPH) team has won a new customer in Sky Express, a relatively new Greek airline. The three-year contract will see the team provide passenger, ramp and de-icing services for their summer charter program. We started working with Sky Express in 2021 at London Heathrow before they moved to London Gatwick earlier this month.

First strategy review meeting with IAG Airports
The inaugural strategy review meeting with our Europe operations and commercial teams and International Airlines Group (IAG) was held this week and covered a range of topics from summer 2023 readiness to how we automate and future proof ground operations. IAG said, “as a partner, Menzies has consistently shown a strong commitment to safety and quality management, and they have demonstrated a strong willingness to work collaboratively to achieve this.” High praise indeed.

OSEA Cargo leadership conference
The OSEA regional cargo leaders shared some valuable time recently in a three-day conference in Sydney, Australia. With a focus on Menzies values, leadership and resilience, 12 team members from New Zealand, Macau, China and Australia were challenged both physically and mentally. They completed individual and team challenges and mental wellbeing initiatives. From the boardroom to axe throwing and a team survivor challenge, the OSEA cargo leaders demonstrated Menzies values throughout and learnt a lot about themselves and each other. The conference culminated in a privilege walk recognising that each team member may have a different story or background, but despite the differences, they are a unified team.
