International Day of Charity

5 September 2022

Following the re-opening of the John Maxwell Menzies (JMM) Community Fund earlier this year, we’re delighted to have provided support to charities nominated by our teams across the globe.

The global fund was originally created by the Menzies family to encourage employees to participate in charitable, voluntary and community related activities either on an individual basis or as part of a team.

The fund has contributed many thousands of pounds over the years and we hope it will inspire our employees and teams to support their local communities, fundraise, and get involved in charities that are important to them.

Since reopening we have made donations to the following organisations:

  • Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation for childhood cancer, USA
  • CDKL5 Canada dedicated to finding a cure for CDKL5 disorder, Canada
  • The Turban Project, free headwear for patients who have lost their hair due to medical reasons, USA
  • Alaska Down Syndrome Network, USA
  • Ayudatón Palmira for stray animals, Colombia
  • The Breakfast Club Redcliffe provide fee meal services and food assistance to community members in need, Australia
  • Cambusbarron Wee Rovers children and youth football, United Kingdom
  • Westchester Little League, USA
  • LKF Rehabilitation Center for children, Pakistan
  • Macmillan Cancer Support, United Kingdom
  • East Calder Community Football Club, United Kingdom
  • Cat Care, South Africa

We are also providing support to the current situation in Pakistan and more details will follow.
