Training the trainers in Côte d’Ivoire

12 October 2022

Craig Austin-Greenwood, Digital Learning Manager recently visited Abidjan to facilitate workshops with the local NAS training team, two NAS training managers from Kuwait and Entebbe and one of our colleagues from Cotonou, AHS Benin.

On the agenda was a trainer workshop where they discussed what good training looks like, the role and responsibilities of a trainer, and training delivery the Menzies way, followed by a masterclass in our EMPOWER learning system. The purpose of the visit was to upskill the training team in the system and prepare them to integrate into the Menzies way of training.

Craig shared his thoughts on the visit, “It was a privilege to visit Abidjan, meet the team and facilitate the workshops. It was a great opportunity to meet new colleagues and I’m excited for the next stages of the integration journey. The workshops also marked a personal triumph as I delivered the sessions in French, which was a step outside my usual communication comfort zone.’

Bienvenue BLA, Training & Development Coordinator in Abidjan added, “It was a real pleasure for me to participate in this workshop which taught us new ways of working at Menzies. Craig, our facilitator, was very effective in making himself understood, alternating between French and English.”
