First annual European deicing workshop since 2019
6 July 2022
The European deicing leads recently held their first annual winter deicing conference since 2019. The two-day workshop was held in Bucharest, Romania (in 38-degree heat!), where the team wrapped up the 2021/2022 season and looked ahead to 2022/2023.
Over the two days, the team covered safety and quality topics including amendments and updates to the Ground Deicing /Anti-icing Manual (GDAM) following SAE International Global Deicing Standard changes. New innovations and technology in the industry were also on agenda including pad deicing, an electric/hybrid approach to de-icing rigs and mixing systems that would allow us to use less fluid.
The team also discussed how they could make the most of the learning management system (LMS) to help stations better manage deicing and lots more!
Grzegorz Dabek, Head of Deicing Europe said: “It was fantastic to be able to finally bring the European deicing community together. Being face to face, talking and interacting directly with one another makes a huge difference in promoting, delivering and preparing our winter readiness plans for the season ahead.”
