New contracts in Mexico
18 January 2022
With new ground services handling contracts in Mexico and operations at 31 airports, we’re strengthening our presence in Latin America.
The contracts are with American Airlines, Aeroflot, Air Canada, Delta Air Lines, Flair Airlines, Frontier Airlines and TAG Airlines. You can read more about each of them below.
American Airlines: two new contracts for the delivery of passenger, ramp, and cabin cleaning services at Chetumal (CTM), and for ramp and cabin cleaning services at Manzanillo (ZLO). We already service American Airlines at 16 airports across Mexico and Chetumal (CTM) is a new airport for Menzies’ Mexico.
Aeroflot: at Cancun (CUN), Mexico’s second busiest airport, we are providing passenger, ramp, and cabin cleaning services. The Russian carrier has recently launched operations at the airport and is a new customer for Menzies at this location.
Air Canada: contracts to provide ramp and cabin cleaning services at Huatulco (HUX) and Zihuatanejo (ZIH). Air Canada is a large customer for Menzies, and these are the first contracts with them in Mexico.
Delta Air Lines: ramp and cabin cleaning services contracts at two stations in Mexico, which will see Menzies servicing 355 flights a year from Guadalajara Airport (GDL) and 575 flights a year at Monterrey Airport (MTY). Monterrey is a new station for Menzies, our 31st airport in Mexico, and our 40th in the Latin America region.
Flair Airlines: we’ve been selected to support Flair Airlines’ start up across Mexico where the Canadian ultra-low-cost carrier is establishing new routes. Menzies will provide ground handling services at Los Cabos (SJD) and Cancun (CUN) from February. This builds on our existing partnership in Canada, where we provide ground services at nine airports.
Frontier Airlines: ground handling services contract with the US-based ultra-low-cost carrier at Cancun (CUN). We have a large existing relationship with Frontier and CUN is a new and very important growth location for Frontier and Menzies.
TAG Airlines: a ground handling services contract at five locations in Mexico, including Cancun (CUN), Merida (MID), Oaxaca (OAX), Tuxla Gutierrez (TGZ) and Guadalajara (GDL). The contract is a significant win and it will bring an additional 1,667 turns to the business in Mexico.
John Redmond, Executive Vice President – Americas, Menzies Aviation said: “We are excited to further expand our presence in Latin America with these new contract wins across Mexico, which highlight the positive reputation Menzies has built for providing safe, secure and consistent quality service across the region. We look forward to continuing to strengthen and grow our relationships with each of these airlines in the future.”
