Scotland is where it all began for Menzies some 189 years ago, so it was fitting that our first global leadership summit was held on the banks of Loch Lomond in November.

The vision for the new Menzies was shared, which is all about working as one team to accelerate growth and ensure people are at the heart of our business to become the undisputed number 1 in our industry. 

As our Chairman Hassan El-Houry put it, “great organisations don’t get one person to take 1000 steps forward. Great organisations inspire 1000 people to take one step forward, together, and another step forward and another step forward. That’s what makes great organisations.”

The Menzies 100 leadership group was also privileged to hear from the inspirational Dame Katherine Grainger [pictured above].

Also hailing from Scotland, the Olympic gold medal rower spoke about becoming the best on the world stage – something our leaders are passionate about.

Dame Katherine opened with this: “When you hear the leaders of an organisation talking about people, passion and pride it’s very powerful. In every high performing sports team I’ve been part of everyone is linked because they’re so passionate about what they do and they take such pride in how they do it and they know to their very core that it doesn’t happen without the people.”
