Women in Leadership programme
19 November 2021
As part of our ESG strategy, Menzies has made a commitment to increase gender diversity and is aiming for at least 40% of middle leadership roles to be held by women by 2033 and 25% of senior leadership roles by 2025, in line with the International Air Transport Association’s (IATA) 25by2025 campaign.
To help achieve our goals, we are piloting a development programme for women which will equip them with the skills and confidence to build their careers at Menzies.
The pilot group of 23 women from Europe, AMI, MEAA and OSEA launches this week. Partnering with an expert diversity organisation, EDIT development, the programme aims to achieve three core objectives:
- Build confidence and self-belief in personal ability to succeed
- Develop clarity on life/career direction and how to navigate for success
- Create comfort building visibility & networking successfully with key stakeholders
Americas colleagues will participate in 2022 and, if successful, programmes will be run globally in the future.
Juliet Thomson, Executive Vice President People and programme sponsor, said: “We are committed to creating a diverse and inclusive organisation. The aviation industry has always been male dominated, so it is essential that women are supported and given opportunities to progress at every level. This programme, along with our wider diversity initiatives, is a key step towards meeting our goals. I look forward to hearing about the pilot group’s experiences and supporting them in their development journey.”
