Passenger flights may have declined significantly in 2020, but demand in other areas increased. Across our portfolio of Ground Services, Fuel Services and Cargo Services the opportunities to renew and win contracts remained high throughout the year.

In fact, the Menzies Commercial team won more than £95m of new contracts (up from approximately £50m in 2019) and renewed around £250m (compared to £150m in 2019). This gives us the platform for growth in the longer term.

As well as the successful growth of our cargo business, which we intend to build on in 2021 and beyond, two of the most notable new wins were in Hungary and Cyprus. We were awarded the ground handling contract for Wizz at Budapest, and in Cyprus we won a PRM (Passengers with Reduced Mobility) contract at Paphos and Larnaca Airports – our first operation in the country.
