Thank you to vigilant Menzies teams around the world

Menzies teams around the world are stepping up to the challenge of increased passenger checks and paperwork at the airport as travel restrictions around the world change.

For many countries and travellers, the coronavirus pandemic has created new checks and procedures such as proof of a negative COVID test or having to enter quarantine on arrival. Additionally, countries throughout the European region have new processes for checking UK and EU passports.

Marina Nilsson Rahel, Front of House Manager at Gothenburg Landvetter Airport in Sweden, has first-hand experience of the changes and thanked her team for their support, saying; “Keeping up to date with Timatic, TravelDoc and other regulations is really demanding and the number of checks we’re making has increased dramatically. In all our Scandinavian stations the teams are doing a great job checking, confirming and reporting when passengers are denied travel.”

Wilma Kruger, VP Security Management Systems, adds; “Throughout Menzies’ global network we’ve seen a lot more passengers who don’t have the right documentation and our front of house colleagues are doing an excellent job in supporting the airlines and authorities by identifying these cases. Travelling on a fake passport or presenting a false coronavirus test result is a criminal offence and our teams are doing their best preventing potential immigration fines for inadmissible passengers, limiting the spread of coronavirus and protecting Menzies and our customers from significant fines.”
