Last week the team at London Gatwick received an unusual request from a customer, whose A320 aircraft was being used by a film production company!

The aircraft, which is to star in an upcoming film, was on the runway at Dunsfold Aerodrome as temperatures in the UK fell to record lows. After careful planning, a de-icing rig and operators were transported 27 miles from London Gatwick to Dunsfold and were on set and ready to play their part.

Dunsfold Aeorodrome is an unlicensed former Royal Airforce airfield which is now used as a film studio and test track – if you’ve ever watched the British television show Top Gear, you’ll know that they use the runway at Dunsfold to test drive cars.
