Menzies shortlisted for four Pride of Ground Handling Awards
3 December 2021
It’s the Pride of Ground Handling Awards next week and we are thrilled to be finalists in four awards – GSE Innovation, Sustainability, Best Cargo Handling Operation and Unsung Hero.
We are delighted to see Kayla Moa, our General Manager for Cargo at Sydney Airport, shortlisted for the Unsung Hero Award. Kayla has always gone above and beyond for her team and is passionate about creating a safe and supportive culture. Her leadership throughout the pandemic has been exceptional and appreciated by her team and everyone at Menzies.
Our Sustainability Strategy has also been shortlisted for the Sustainability Award. Launched in April this year, our strategy is an industry leading plan to help create a fairer, greener world for everyone. It’s the driving force behind a range of local and global initiatives that will help us make a positive difference.
We are also in the running for the GSE Innovation Award for our collaboration with Smarter Asset Management to create an innovative solution to reduce idling of ground service equipment by 20% at London Heathrow Airport, resulting in fuel cost savings and preventing CO2e emissions.
Finally, we are also shortlisted for the Best Cargo Handling Operation Award for adapting and strengthening our cargo handling network over the past 12 months. Despite the ongoing disruption and evolving challenges from Covid-19, our air cargo services have gone from strength to strength with our network growing from 36 to 54 stations.

Good luck to everyone involved.
