Edinburgh Park colleagues help out at Tree of Kindness
7 December 2021
Edinburgh Park colleagues volunteered last week at Social Bite’s Edinburgh Tree of Kindness, collecting donations and learning more about the work Social Bite do in the local community. In 2020, the Festival resulted in the distribution of 39,217 gifts and essential items and over 150,000 Christmas meals and winter food packs for people experiencing homelessness and food poverty.
As part of this year’s Festival, Social Bite are collecting gifts at Trees of Kindness in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Aberdeen, Dundee and London. Working with local charity partners, the gifts will be distributed to homeless people, families and children in poverty in the community.
The Festival of Kindness is running until Thursday 23 December so there’s still plenty of time to get involved and support this great cause.
You can donate directly to Social Bite through the Menzies donation page. A £5 donation could buy a homeless person a Christmas dinner or an emergency food pack; and £20 could buy a selection of toys for children in homeless accommodation to open on Christmas day. Alternatively, you can purchase a gift from the Tree of Kindness wishlist and drop it directly at your closest Tree of Kindness.
