The two Lion Air operations, led by Inspector David Scutchings from the South Australia Police, saw more than 700 citizens safely returned. Menzies employees were on hand to adapt their service to the needs of the governing authorities which included South Australia Health and the Border Force.

Inspector Scutchings passed on his compliments, saying; “The success of the operation can be attributed to the collective and significant effort involved, both in the planning and the operational phase. From my perspective I was surrounded by professional, motivated and experienced managers who were committed to completing the mission safely and efficiently which in turn made the job not only easier but enjoyable.”
