High Commissioner commends Menzies teams in New Zealand

28 May 2020

The Menzies teams at Christchurch and Auckland airports have been supporting the British High Commission in repatriating almost two thousand British citizens – and their hard work, professionalism and kindness hasn’t gone unnoticed!

High Commissioner Laura Clarke attended the last of six repatriation flights which departed from Auckland on 15th May and said goodbye to the final wave of Britons leaving New Zealand. She praised the professional standards displayed by the Menzies team, saying; “Across the many countries where we’ve arranged repatriation flights, New Zealand has been one of the smoothest operations.”

And Matthew Soden, Airport Operations Manager at Auckland, took time to write a letter of thanks to the Menzies team. He noted the dedication, determination and diligence of the team – even going to far as to say he felt like a “proud step-father” towards the Menzies staff. In particular, he thanked the check in team who, despite wearing protective masks, managed to make sure the British travellers started their journey with a friendly smile.

Well done to everyone who supported this operation!
