The Menzies Ground Handling Management team at Sydney received an urgent call from Vietnam Airlines on 1 June, after a flight arrived carrying an unexpected cargo load and their contracted ground handling agent wasn’t available to help.

The managers, including Craig Midson, Ryan Lynch, Louie Mousa, Chris Carr and Talakai Fauonuku, quickly assembled and set about offloading the surprise delivery from the aircraft cabin. The team of five unloaded the six tonne shipment of valuable medical PPE in under two hours with the assistance of the Vietnam Airlines team on board– this meant that the flight was able to depart again on time.

The Menzies’ team’s immediate response and speedy work kept Vietnam Airlines on schedule that day, and unsurprisingly, they were extremely pleased about that!
