London City - cleared for take off!

25 June 2020

The Menzies team at London’s City Airport endured 88 days of shutdown, but on 21 June they were part of the team that got the airport’s first flight since March off the ground!

Flights resumed last Sunday with an inbound BA Cityflyer flight operated by Loganair from the Isle of Man. The ATR42 G-LMRA was successfully turned around and the return flight departed back to the Isle of Man - ahead of schedule, of course.

It was an historic moment for London City, and the first time the Menzies team there has followed the new procedures for social distancing during a turn around operation. A big thank you is due to everyone from Menzies who was involved.

Flights at City look set to increase from early July and research carried out for the airport confirms that almost 80% of their travelling customers are keen to get flying again as soon as they can.
