Island hopping with Menzies Aviation
23 July 2020
Following the formation of the first ‘air bridge’ in the British Isles, between the Isle of Man and Guernsey, the Menzies team on the Isle of Man handled the first flight as part of this agreement on Wednesday 22 July.
Guernsey-based Aurigny will be operating a number of flights from now until mid-September, to allow residents to travel between the islands without having to self-isolate at either end of the journey. Both Guernsey and the Isle of Man have been free of coronavirus for several weeks and travel between the two is deemed safe. Travel to the nearby Channel Islands of Sark and Alderney is also permitted under the agreement.
Sales for flights have exceeded all expectations, with only a limited number of seats available between now and mid-September, as islanders look to enjoy an isolation-free trip during the summer holidays.
