Today, 3 December, we’ve confirmed our acquisition of a 51% shareholding in Royal Airport Services, a leading aviation services business based in Pakistan. We expect to begin operating in March next year, following a period of integration.

RAS was established in 2007 and has a strong position in Pakistan, providing a range of aviation services including ground and cargo handling, airline ticketing and cargo sales. They handle both domestic and international carriers across eight airports.

Philipp Joeinig, Executive Chairman of Menzies, said; “We are delighted to be partnered with Royal Airport Services, the leading aviation services company in Pakistan.

“Together, as a joint venture, we will strive to improve aviation safety and security and foster further growth in the passenger and cargo sectors of this market, which in turn will further develop the Pakistan travel and tourism market.”

This acquisition combines RAS’s successful growth with Menzies Aviation’s scale, giving us the springboard for future expansion and growth in Central Asia in line with the commitment made by Philipp Joeinig, Executive Chairman, in our mid-year results in September.
