Three Menzies Aviation Oslo employees, swapped their Menzies uniform for the Home Guard uniform recently and began work supporting the rescue and repatriation operation at Oslo airport.
Glenn Madsen (Baggage Handling Manager), Atle Hytjanstopr Sydholden (Ramp Crew Chief) and Johan Bendik Kaldshussaeter (Ramp Crew Chief) joined the military operation which is based in the main terminal building.
Alongside other Norwegian Home Guards, they’ve been helping passengers arriving on rescue and repatriation flights. As well as providing information on social distancing and quarantine, they’ve been helping the Menzies arrivals team to direct passengers to immediate medical assistance.
Glenn said; “It was an honour to be able to help our citizens safe return and ensure our borders into the country was kept restricted in this time of crisis. As an employee in Menzies Aviation we are always focusing on safety and security, combined with the experience from the Home Guard we have been a welcoming help to the police.’’
